Hello.

I have been trying to upgrade my BBC iplayer plugin to 1.5.x, but all the repository URL's that I can find listed in the various threads here don't work; I get error404 or sometimes SSL or re-direct limit exceeded errors.

I am running LMS 7.9.1 on a ReadyNAS box (spark processor).

Can anyone advise how I can update/reinstall BBC iplayer.

thanks in advance

Sourceforge has been erratic - sometime all OK , somehtime just the XML and no ZIP - so to end user lots of different error message but ultimately same problem: sourceforge

Annoying thing is homepage and a few layes down are usually working http://www.sourceforge.net

First post . . .

Apart from the issue above, are the two bbc iplayer plugins still available and working. I have seem various threads but it is hard to tell what is the current situation.

I currently have bbc iplayer v1.3.1alpha3 which seems to work and bbc iplayer extras v1.8 which doesn't, error '404 not found'.

If there is a workin solution, please can you post the thread, it would be very much appreciated.

I am on LMS 7.8.1, running a pair of duets, in the OK.

Thanks for the bbc plugin effort, it is a great facility !!

Because the author Triode is no longer on the firum, 1.3alpha3 has not been updated for years. To get it working you need to patch.
BBC removed various data feeds which broke V1.* of BBCiPlayerExtra.

There is an updated version of the BBciPlayer plyugin currently 1.5.* and an update to BBCiPlayerExtra. These updates implement DASH protocol and support DASH rather than HLS. The HLS implementation canhave issues on some platrofrms such as Windows.

BBCiplayerExtras 2.0 which uses different feeds to provide a more limited "extra" functionality - these feeds are due to end later this year.

To install 1.5.* add the new repository URL below to the WebUI Setting/lugins tab and then select the plugins that appear in the repository listing at the bottom of the Plugins tab.

Hi bpa,

I followed your instructions and 1.5 is mostly working but the main feature I use (listen again by day) isn't. It seems it is trying to play HLS?

When I use the BBCiPlayerExtra and navigate using the programme name (for the same programme) I get a DASH stream...

This DOES work.

Can you see where I could be going wrong?

Basic information often helps.

What version of BBCiplayer are you using ?
What player are you using ?
What are the BBCiplayer Setting ?
What program are you trying to play ?

BBCmakes all recent programs available in both HLS and DASH. As I don't have a HLS reference player (no apple stuff) I don't maintain the HLS player but it seems to work still. Sometimes due to BBC problems, one or other format of some programs is not available until 1-2 days after broadcast.

edit:

Just found the program - R4 15 minute Drama Tuesday - all the ways I can select it from BBCiPlayer menu (by day/time or by title) give an iplayer:// URL with both HLS and DASH - plugin settings may be key to your issue.
