Yeah, I'll turn off all apps on my computer and I still get it.

Where is the rescan interval?

Also, where is "disable the period cache flush to disk" set?

What about "Build Items Per Pass" What should I set that to?

You can't set it without a source code distribution of slimserver.
It is in line 90 of Music/Info.pm

I believe the default is ok (5?). It shouldn't affect performance
unless your library is being actively rescanned.

By default, that is off. There is also a rescan interval in server
settings->itunes, server settings->musicmagic, and server settings->moodlogic
if you happen to be using any of those.

5 is the current default. Older installs used 100, so that might have carried
over. There is a visible and audible improvement going from 100 to 5 on
certain systems.
