Hi Squeezebox experts,

few years back I had a similar question I never figured out how to play music from an ipod over LMS.

Now my setup has changed and my requirement as well.

I am running LMS from my Synology NAS playing a bunch of duet receivers in 3 groups.

On my Macbook Air I am running DJ Software Traktor Pro and use a hardware controller with external sound card, so my PA and monitor speakers connect to the Controller by default. (I could as well use the built in sound card of the mac instead which is I guess the only way it would potentially work.)

I would love to play my mixes over the LMS to have them all over the place. But I have no idea how to achieve all this.

I would need to grab the audio from my mac sound card, route it over the network to the NAS and have the LMS broadcast the stream. I learned that SONOS does have features like that but I did not find anything so far for LMS, e.g. I think the waveinput plugin does not help in this case :-( and as I am doing live mixes, latency is another important topic.

any idea out there how to fix this?

thx a lot!
Martin

You might try installing a DLNA plugin on LMS then configuring your Mac to route its sound to DLNA:

Isnít there a WaveInput plugin for macOS, too?

A user (not me) created an experimental version and I don't know where it can be found nor how it works.

Isnít Drag and Drop possible?
Just drag your tracks into the Playlist of the LMS Webinterface. They should be uploaded and played.

Yes, here's the thread (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?87023-Experimental-version-of-WaveInput-for-Mac-OS).

A zip of it is attached to post #28 (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?87023-Experimental-version-of-WaveInput-for-Mac-OS&p=841491&viewfull=1#post841491).

I don't know how it works either.

I may be missing somehting but if you want to play music from iPod / Mac to a LMS - why not use something like Shairtunes which makes LMS player look like an Airtunes speaker.

Sorry to hijack but I would love a suggestion on how to achieve this as well - NYE party! :-)

I'm also using a macbook air (with algoriddim djay 2), LMS is on win 10 server on local network. Squeezelite/PCP/Joggler players around the house.

I was beginning to get somewhere with soundflower and mirroring to my samsung TV but it crashes a lot.

So it's a similar route - capturing the output of the dj controller or mac soundcard, sending it to LMS across the network and distributing across my squeeze players.

Any suggestions welcome!

Any suggestions welcome!Use something like Nicecast to create a internet radio stream capturing the output from algoriddim, then tune into the local stream URL on LMS.
