I have set up a Raspberry Pi to run LMS and Have it pointing at my NAS for my Files.
All this is working sucessfully.....

I was wondering what the mount Command would look like for attaching a USB Drive off of the Raspberry Pi?
Or whether it would even work that well?

sudo mkdir /mnt
sudo mount -t ext4 /dev/sda1 /mnt

It should work fine but be prepared to need separate power supply for the USB drive - assuming it is one that spins.

On the pCp beta page go to LMS tab and scroll down, expand the info more boxes and follow your nose :)

The command I gave is for a drive formatted ext4. If you're just plugging in the drive without formatting it won't work.

For piCorePlayer follow the instructions by Man in a Van.

Also for anyone doing manual mounting. Make sure the directory you mount to is empty or new. /mnt is used in picoreplayer

I just plugged in my USB Drive (Passport 2tb Drive) and it never showed up in PicorePlayer.... I am guessing that it was underpowered.... How would I be able to Get power to this Drive, while also having the Rpi running LMS recognize it?

Could be a few different things.
Perhaps the disk format was not recognised.
Maybe password access is enabled on that WD drive.
Or - and I suspect most likely - not enough power through the Pi USB.

If you have a spare powered USB hub then try putting the drive into that and then connect the hub to the Pi ... and then turn on the Pi.

Good Idea on the Hub... I'll try one.... The Format of the drive seems fine, as I have no trouble when plugged into a tablet or PC. No password either.

Did you reboot the pi with the drive attatched? (just checking :))

Check dmesg after plugging it in. This is on the diagnostics page

It's off the main menu in beta mode. Beta mode functions can write to the data to the card or download extra programs from the repo.
