I am running the latest version of Squeezeserver on a Linux box and have multiple PiCorePlayers with USB-DACs distributed about the house. This system works perfectly for multi-room, multi-zone audio!

What I would like to be able to do is use the system as an PA system as well. Is there any way to have an audio alert broadcast on my network (e.g. RTSP), received by Squeezebox where it either interrupts or overplays the existing playback to play on 1 or more of my "zones"?

Hi Juggler,

We sort of built this for Bluetooth. A channel is created in the LMS that interrupts playback when the paired BT device input starts.

Some more info (https://www.max2play.com/en/portfolio/plugin-bluetooth-2/)

I made a Youtube video on how to set it. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mt96_jnxnnU)

openhab home automation has a component to do this. It's a lot of work to set up just for this. Just thought I'd mention it.
