Running Slim 5.4.0 on xp sp2. When I go to start the Softsqueeze for the
first time on the machine running slim server, I get the following error
message:

An error occurred while launching/running the application.

Category: Invalid Argument error

Could not load file/URL specified: C:\Documents and
Settings\FarmerHodge\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.IE5\A9H6N25W\softsqueeze[1].jnlp

It's a file not found exception. Usually if I try to launch it a second
time, it will start up without a problem. Sometimes it takes a couple
attempts for it to go. However, when it does, I notice that the slimserver
recognizes it as a new player even though it already knows about previous
softsqueeze players from 127.0.0.1. I currently have 5 in my player list.
What can I do to resolve the above error, and it treating these clients
properly? Do I need to tweak some settings in Internet Options to stop
this? If I close the softsqueeze but leave the slim window open, a
subsequent launch will work ... so it seems like it is losing the temp file
if I close the slim window.

Chris,

The problem you are having launching Softsqueeze is a bug/feature in
Internet Explorer. What version of IE are you using? I do not seem to be
able to recreate this myself.

It also looks like the Softsqueeze preferences are not being stored
correctly, someone else on the list had this problem and found that
using the Reset button on the Softsqueeze preference window sorted this out.

Regards,
Richard
