Hello

I recently bought a SB Wireless hoping to hook it up
to my 3COM a/b/g AP with 128bit WEP enabled but
unfortunately I still couldn't get it to work after
numerous attempts.

I have searched the discussion forum and it appears
that many people have similar experiences.

The particular model of the 3COM AP is a 3CRWE454A72.
I tried 64bit and 128bit, SSID broadcast
enabled/disabled, MAC filter on/off. None works except
if WEP is completely disabled which is really not an
option as this is my sole AP. The only option not
available on the 3COM is an Open vs Shared setting.

Anyone has any idea on what I can do next? At this
point in time I can only think of getting an
additional AP without WEP enabled but with MAC filter
on just for the SB. Your help is much appreciated.

Regards
Cedric

My USR would not work until Shared only was selected. Then I dumped it and
replaced with a NetGear - no problems...!
