I have 2 7.9 installs at the same level 7.9.0 - 1473501469. In My Music in the WebUI one shows "Random Albums", "Top tracks" and maybe a couple more. The other installation doesn't show these items in the My Music section of the WebUI. The one that shows these items was a fresh install on a brand new system. The one that doesn't show these items was an upgrade from 7.8. How do I turn these on in the install that doesn't show the items? I can't see any difference in the Adanced -> Additional Browse Mode sections on the machines. I must be missing something...

Maybe you need to set this in the Player > Additional Browse modes? I think there is a per player setting too.

Thanks, found it in the Player section as you said. The interesting thing is that the virgin install that showed the menu items had no players attached, so these couldn't be checked as they could in the 7.9 version that had players attached and didn't show these menu items. These menu items should be able to be set globally. If you then turn an item off or on for a given player that is different from the global setting, the player setting should take preference.

So on a LMS that currently has no players attached how would you select/deselect the inclusion of these menu items in the WebUI?

I see the Additional Browse Modes plugin and if I click the settings for that plugin it takes me to the same dialog as the Advanced tab -> Additional Browse Modes in the dropdown, but can't see how to manipulate the inclusion or exclusion of menu items in the My Music section of the WebUI. Seems like the Advanced tab -> Additional Browse Modes dialog should have the same list of items with check boxes as in the Player tab -> Additional Browse Mode dialog. I can't see any real use case for setting these for one player, but not another. Seems like it should be a global setting rather than a per player setting. Of course this is just my opinion...

The question isn't why I have a server with no player attached. It's how to change what's in the list of ways to see my music on a LMS with no players attached. Since they all show with no players attached there should be a way to change this with no players attached. And yes, the topic is 7.9 Random Albums. This is one of the items in the My Music list in the WebUI. As far as 7.9 random mix goes I don't know where that came from??

I have a test instance of LMS that is running most of the time without any players attached most of the time. When I install a new LMS it goes on that machine. I verify that the basic functions work and then it's easy enough to pull a player from my production server. I also use this server when I do library layout changes to make sure they'll work like I planned. It's also a backup in the event I lose my production box. So if these items are as you say "always player related", none of them should show on an LMS instance with no players attached.
