Robert,
That's how I have mine set up.

It's all configurable from the standard settings screens.
Player Settings->Display->Standby Font
Change to large or huge and the date will disappear.

Subject: [slim] Different size text for screensaver / menu

Hi,

Is is possible to configure / hack different size text and or the
format for the datetime screensaver?

I'd ideally like to either remove the date from the screensaver, or be
able to specify large text for the screensaver whilst still having the
standard size for normal operation...

I had a look through plugin.pm in the datetime directory, but failed
to spot anything obvious... (first time I've looked at a plugin
though)

Cheers for any thoughts,

Rob

it all depends on what mode you use the datetime screensaver. If you use it
while off, you can set the text size when powered off. If you use the
screensaver while idle, then the player is still 'on' and uses the text size
for 'on'.

If you want to modify the plugin to hardcode a text size, then you can use:
$client->textSize(1);
in Plugin.pm, setMode() might work. that or in the lines() routine.
The number you use 0,1,2,3, etc correspond to the Font settings in Player
Settings->Display. The number is the index of the font. The actual font used
will look up the Font list or Standby Font list depending on the power state of
the player and then use the font at that index. By default, 0 is small, 3 is
huge.

Excellent - thanks for that, I will have a play when I get home
tonight. Note to self: must look harder for standard settings!
Although hardcoding it might actually be what I want...

Cheers
