Hi all, has anyone written a program that scans a music collection and automatically fetches any artwork available ?

Hi Michael, I think I've enabled the plugin it appears under extras on the Web admin page - clicking on find albums with no artwork duly produces a list of albums and clicking on them shows any artwork found but how do I tell the app to download it to the relevant folder ?

Hi Pkfox,

since i didnt have any albums without artwork :p

first make a new folder somewhere lms can reach and has permissions.

Please go to:
the settings from server
navigate to plugin
click on settings
set something like fetch from online sources to on
choose the artwork folder that you create above
may you need a rescan - cant tell cause ... ;)

cheers
btw: now i may got it - your app for the dokumentation didnt fetch the covers into the pdf?
Then i knew why its so quick. if so i did something completly different.

When I did a mass sort-out of my music collection a few years ago, I found Bliss (http://www.blisshq.com/) very useful. You can specify all sorts of conditions for each piece of artwork, and I think it can address some tags now.

sadly to write http://coverlib.com/ is offline and may didnt ever come back...

I stupidly decided once to publish a "What i am listening right now" for each of my player in my private Homepage - nothing wrong with it - but... the idiot in me also published the actual artwork to the world...
At the same time coverlib goes offline i got a nice shit of paper from a laywer ....

so hurry up maybe there is some connection between these and sooner or later we had to scan our covers ourself again...

Hi, I did a rescan and noticed there were additional notifications on the bottom of the page about scanning coverart and looking in ( I have a linux server ) in \var\lib\squeezeboxserver\cache I see there is a new folder called mai_artwork which has lots of images in it and they are indeed shown when you browse artists so it looks like the job is done

Keep in mind that the cache folder can be wiped at any time. If you want
to be sure you don't have to download those covers again, copy the files
form the cache folder to the albums' folders.
