Looking for suggestions to upgrade my AudioEngine A2 speakers on the end of an SB Touch and currently situated against the house wall on a unit under a covered terrace to provide music for al fresco lunches / dinners etc..

The A2s are good close up but lack scale and guts when you move away or off-axis. Got some A5s which I'll try; also some JBL Control 1s which I can drive with a TP-20 or TP-60 amp for comparison. Just like some "largesse" to the sounds . . .

Any thoughts on upgrades? Not looking for anything too large / fussy / expensive.

Bring it on . . .

I have a pair of Prodipe Pro 5 in my kitchen. Doing a good job. Good power and fine bass response size considered.

I've been thinking about getting a pair of Adam Artist monitors for my desktop. For a patio, I would probably get the Artist 5.

I don't have a terrace, but do have Mackie 824 mk2s, a nice well balanced speaker (there is also a smaller 624 mk2)
