Hi guys, I ve got SB classics and after 4 years I changed power adapter /the proper one-5V,2A/. I am using wifi with any problem. After some time, display dissapeared, but still working and playing music. Controlling by memory on remote contr. or threw PC-SB apps. Six months ago completely stopped working. They refused to repair that, due to "no spare parts" /just asking on e-mail/. I ve read this forum /maybe not properly/ and didnt find solution to my problem. After six months I tried to switch it on and what a suprise: It s working and playing music, but untill I powered off. Then no more display and music again. It happened a few times. Time-out must be more than week. What could be a problem? That repeatedly working for a while completly confused me. Open SB is no problem for me, but I ll wait for your adwise rather, thank you very much for your help and time, appreciate that a lot

Please note I know about nothing about electronics.

However, until someone knowledgeable chimes into this thread, there are, AFAIK, 3 common issues that could relate to your problem:
- a weak PSU that does not really deliver 2A
- a loose or rusty power socket within the SB3
- a dead wifi card
I would check these potential causes first.

Now, the fact the SB3 works again after some time might have something to do with dead capacitors. I think I've read of someone with an issue like this, I am not sure.
Relatively recently someone has repaired an SB3 damaged by lightning. The post contains exensive information (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?101236-Lightning-damage-to-Squeezebox-3-repaired!) and, I hope, might be of help.

Fingers crossed.

Thanks for your reply, I am going to buy another PSU, just to be sure. I ve read this issue and I am suspicious of capacitors as well. I dont know, if the pulling out wifi card does the sense, if it s working by now. But I ll try to do so. Thanks anyway, i ll let you know...

Update, right now it s working with hardly readable display, but playing music. If I push on remote control "brightness", completle stopped-no display, no music. Looks like power missing. Sorry for the amateur speaking, just trying to analyse the problem, thank you anyway
