Not all radio stations are supported. Some broadcast only via their own apps and via flash players in a browser -this may be the case with this station.
Sometimes someone will write a plugin for LMS that sorts the issue - example BBC iPlayer - but not always possible.
Alternatively there are "aggregators" - example TuneIn - which may carry the station.
TuneIn and other aggregators are supported by LMS. Have a look there first.

Yup, open.fm is not on any aggregator (TuneIn, vTuner, ShoutCast, etc...) they have chosen limited their usage to online web player and phone/tablet apps.

So no hope to get it on duet ?

Not directly no.
BUT if you are running LMS on Linux you could install the Shairport plugin which makes your Duet into an AirPlay device. Then you could use open.fm iOS app and stream it to the Duet.

Eeee...OK , can now you translate this to english ? :D

Look for Shairport plugin and install on LMS.
It makes Duet an AirPlay receiver.
Use open.fm iOS app. Select play to AirPlay.

I think you can get an app that does it on Android as well.

Their home web site lists Apple, Android, Windows phone, Windows PC as acceptable players with associated downloads (apps) to do so.

And all of those do AirPlay? #not

I meant you would need an app on Android to connect to an Airplay receiver. I think AllConnect does it. but whether the open.fm app would allow you to play to said Airplay device (in this case the Duet) I have no idea. Unfortunately this is one area where iOS beats Android - almost every iOS audio app supports Airplay (if not all).

Still it's overkill as can buy cheap 2$ stereo bluetooth receiver for home cinema so can do it straight from phone , was kind of hoping that duet will do it but now I can see why is becoming obsolete shame , I did log on to it via network and folder structure is like all linux based devices I know and own , shame there is no easy way to do it ;)

Are you running LMS on your network ? Its not clear from your questions.

No logitech media server installed on my PC , just duet as a set ;)

If you install LMS you will see the flexibility of the Squeezebox ecosystem.
There is a DLNA/UPnP plugin that will show your Duet as a device that Androids AllConnect can talk to.

Unfortunately I do not see this versatility it's reallllly overkill , to run PC + duet + android/ios + home cinema sound , where it can be done by bluetooth home cinema and android/IOS/windows phone device shame, that's why it's obsolete ;) good it was given to me as gift but now I can see that I would not spend a penny on it, it has connectivity issues over wifi in general , there is irda for controlling devices like home cinema but no proper app and for company that makes very good harmony remotes that looks like a bad joke , it's very limited like most products from logitech needs accounts silly registration and so on . But all this said it's looking really cool on my shelf :D

This dlna/upnp plugin is installed on duet or PC ?

You need to try LMS. Plugins are installed to that.
Bluetooth is low-fi. Duet is capable of 96kHz/24bit which is hi-fi.
Install LMS, rip a CD to Flac or download some HD Flacs and try it.

Unfortunately I do not see this versatility .....

..... based on the limitations imposed by the service you want (open.fm), yes. Had they made their streams available via basic stream aggregators using simple URL's (like the many thousands of other stations) you could easily find and play them on your Duet.

If you are happy with Bluetooth sound than you are right, you should not spend money on anything audio, a pair of stock headphones for your phone will do just as well.

Then explain me this , I can see that duet is based on some distribution of linux there is app for linux devices , why not use it for duet ?

1. No room in the Duet's firmware
2. Duet not designed to use apps
3. Who is going to write it / maintain it?
4. Firmware is proprietary / not open source
5. Plugin for LMS (see #3)
6. App for MySB.com (see #3)
7. Duet was discontinued years ago before open.fm was even conceived

I'm all for new services and use my four SB players almost exclusively for internet streaming. But I'm also realistic on what I expect from a long since discontinued product not being "customized" to support a service that won't simply make their streams available to the big stream aggregators (which is likely by design on their part, it cost them nothing to be listed).

Those listed m3u URL's don't actually play anything (for me anyway). Tried 2 different media players and added one to my SB Favorites. If I click on them all they do is take me to the Open.fm web site. They are limiting access for a reason (maybe advertising?), might want to ask them why. :)
