Hello Dave,
my script is not clever enough to figure out the relationship between
your two drives because the leading directory is different between the
two machines
eg. \Spirit and \mp3.

I have not had any bright ideas yet about how to make this automatic so
I would suggest you hack the script to change the path by inserting this
around line 150:
$searchTerms{location} =~ s/^\\home/\\Spirit/;

hope that works...

James

Hey--

So I'm using my SlimServer and getting it to read from the iTunes XML
file (thanks, Jesse!) and, although I'm still having playlist issues, I
thought I'd give the iTunesUpdate script a shot as well. I have
installed the plugin correctly and it's generating the iTunes_Hist.txt
file; but when I go to run it on my windows machine, I get told: False
match, and then "Track not found in iTunes."

Here's a relevant excerpt:
==logTrackToiTunesWin()
Searching iTunes for *John Coltrane Syeeda's Song Flute*
Found 2 track(s) in iTunes
Checking for: *\home\mp3\John Coltrane\Giant Steps\12 - Syeeda's Song
Flute.mp3*

1 - False match: *\Spirit\mp3\John Coltrane\Giant Steps\John Coltrane -
Syeeda's Song Flute (Giant Steps).mp3*
2 - False match: *\Spirit\mp3\John Coltrane\Giant Steps\12 - Syeeda's
Song Flute.mp3*
Track not found in iTunes
==logTrackToiTunesWin()
Searching iTunes for *Elvis Costello Big Boys*
Found 1 track(s) in iTunes
Checking for: *\home\mp3\Elvis Costello\Armed Forces\Elvis Costello -
Armed Forces (04) Big Boys.mp3*
1 - False match: *\Spirit\mp3\Elvis Costello\Armed Forces\Elvis Costello
- Armed Forces (04) Big Boys.mp3*
Track not found in iTunes
==logTrackToiTunesWin()

I'm confident that the issue is in how I access my music from my
Windows/iTunes setup (via Samba to a share on my music server:
\\spirit\mp3) vs. how the Linux/SlimServer box sees it (/home/mp3) --
but I'm not sure how to address it.

Anyone have any ideas?

Configuration:
SlimServer and iTunesUpdate running on Linux, on machine: spirit
All music is accessible via /home/mp3;
the iTunes directory and files are stored in /home/itunes

/home/mp3 is samba-exported as mp3
/home/iTunes is samba-exported as itues

iTunes is running on a Windows PC.

Thoughts?

Thanks.
