I hope by "innovative", they don't mean, "doing what 50 other startups are doing, and not offering meaningful differentiation from one another or Sonos".

How many devices have been offered to stream music that fail to work as well as the Squeezebox and as you suggest the LMS software(which runs on other devices too -RPI, Cubietruck, ODROID etc)? I suspect this just another

This. It's just so very hard to convince anyone that has mega-mass-market sales on their mind that there is any worthwhile interface to build that isn't a smartphone or tablet + an app.
