View Full Version : Is it possible to make LMS forcibly reconnect tomysqueezebox.com?

I had some network issues after booting everything when returning from a
vacation yesterday, and if I'm interpreting these lines in server.log
correctly, LMS has decided that it will wait two days before trying to
reconnect to mysqueezebox.com again:
...
[15-02-22 20:25:43.0633] Slim::Networking::SqueezeNetwork::Players::_player s_error (334) Unable to get players from SN: Couldn't resolve IP address for: www.mysqueezebox.com, retrying in 86400 seconds
[15-02-22 20:30:43.0779] Slim::Networking::SqueezeNetwork::_error (596) Unable to login to SN: Couldn't resolve IP address for: www.mysqueezebox.com

It's kind of annoying to have to wait two days to have my squeezeboxen
available... is there a way to make LMS forcibly reconnect to
mysqueezebox.com? (I couldn't find any button for this in the settings).

Rebooting the machine LMS is running on doesn't help (I've tried).

Thanks!

Just restart LMS. And if you don't do so yet, you might want to install
one of the nightly builds (7.7.6, 7.8.1 or 7.9), as I hopefully have
improved the name resolution code.

This is on a Windows 8.1 box, so I logged in, opened the services
window, and stopped and started the "Logitech Media Server" service.

But it still doesn't see the two squeezebox devices (a radio, and a
duet).

Here's the log messages from the service restart:
[15-02-25 06:50:04.8041] main::init (354) Starting Logitech Media Server (v7.7.3, 1375965195, Mon Aug 12 11:14:33 CUT 2013) perl 5.014001

Ok, thanks, I'll try 7.7.6 version (nearest to what I've got).

(There is an upgrade "knocking on the door", but I've been wary of
installing upgrades, since the upgrade that nearly turned my Squeezebox
Radio into a "Logitech UE Smart Radio"...:-) )

But if someone is actively maintaining the LMS now, I will try to stay
more up to date.

Thanks!

Try rebooting LMS from the Task Bar. Then right click the LMS icon, select Control Panel, go to Diagnostics. What is reported for ALL pings, ports, IP's?
Tried connecting player to LMS from the player?

Ok, right clicked the tooltray icon and stopped LMS.

Then exited the tool tray icon, and pressed the windows key and searched
for "logitech", right clicked the LMS and selected "Run as
Administrator".

When the control panel opened, it started the LMS automatically.

Here's what was in diagnostics after the LMS restart:

Logitech Media server
Logitech Media server: running
Server IP-address: 10.10.10.23
Port 3483 (slimproto): OK
Port 9000 (HTTP): OK
Port 9010 (CLI): OK

mysqueezebox.com
Server IP-address: 79.125.18.68
Ping: OK
Port 3483 (slimproto): OK
Port 9000 (HTTP): OK

The squeezeboxes still didn't show up in LMS.

No, not yet.

Only feasible for the radio, because the battery on the duet remote is
dead for the nth time (and besides I think the duet remote needs a
working relationship with an LMS to function...?).

I have tried rebooting them both multiple times, I see them get DHCP
leases, and I can ping them.

I will try connecting the radio to LMS now.

[snip!]

This worked! Thanks!

Actually, from the control panel on the squeeze radio I was able to
connect both the radio and the duet to LMS, so now both boxes are
working again. :-)

In your lms install did you enter your mysqueezebox.com credentials into lms ? When this works as it should , the players should just apear in the player selector in lms web ui as "on mysqueezebox.com " if they drifted over there .
