It's a sad thing. I was just listening to Faces Long Player album earlier today and had to post over in the Listening thread.
OT - Love the M C Escher eye avatar.

RIP Ian.
There's some notable departures recently that together would have made a superb band.

Oh man. He seemed to be having such fun too. He and Ronnie Lane are back together...

By all accounts he was a really great guy. Trivia note: his late wife Kim was originally married to Keith Moon (unfortunately Moonie was a shitty husband though), divorced Keith in the mid-70's, and married Ian in late 1978. A happy marriage by all accounts. She died several years ago in a traffic accident...

This is getting so depressing ..... every week another one bites the dust!

Seems the Grim Reaper is still in full-time employment.

I saw him with the Faces a few times back in the day (1970s). A friend said he had a chance to talk with him backstage at a show in Dallas just a few years ago. He said was very friendly and very witty. I wish I could have caught one of his shows in Austin in recent years. Ian does some great work on Lucinda Williams latest album "Where the Spirit Meets the Bone" (her best since "Car Wheels").
