View Full Version : Best Font settings for bad vision

My wife's vision is not great, but not enough for her to wear glasses
all the time. I'm using the standard fonts at various sizes and
brightness, but she finds them quickly straining - but it's fine for
me.

Any custom fonts that people have found good for vision impaired?

Hi Stephen,

Check out bob's fonts and font tool here:

<http://mylefteye.com/sbgfonts/>

If you find one that you particularly like, please post your experience
so we can improve the readability for your wife and everybody else!

My wife reports that thinhuge-mixcaps is a big improvement for her.

Stephen,

I just dug up and posted an earlier effort (which somehow
never got copied to my Slim\Graphics folder) called thickhuge-caps.
It is a display pig (fits less info than anything I've cooked up
to date), but I think it's even better than thinhuge-mixcaps
for readability. If it works well for your wife, let me know,
and I'll edit up a staggered "-mixcaps" version. (And if not,
well, I'm glad the thin version was of help!) :)

i don't think i'll be doing a lowercase version of this one,
thick + lowercase @ 16 pixels tall = meh.

Thanks - I will let her try it though the thin fonts seem to cause her
less issue with bloggy vision.
