View Full Version : Ignore files other than audio files in music directory?

Hi,

Would it be possible to add an option to only display audio files when
"Browsing the Music Folder" i.e. .flac, .mp3, .m4u, etc. ?

Put it another way, would it be possible to add an option to not display
playlists?

As an example, here's the contents of the directory containing one of my
ripped discs:

Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble - The Sky Is Crying
sky_crying_back.jpg
sky_crying_front.jpg
01 ~ Boot Hill.flac
02 ~ The Sky Is Crying.flac
03 ~ Empty Arms.flac
04 ~ Little Wing.flac
05 ~ Wham.flac
06 ~ May I Have A Talk With You.flac
07 ~ Close To You.flac
08 ~ Chitlins Con Carne.flac
09 ~ So Excited.flac
10 ~ Life By The Drop.flac
Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble - The Sky Is Crying.m3u
The Sky Is Crying.CUE
The Sky Is Crying-flac.CUE
The Sky Is Crying.log

The .jpg and .log files are correctly ignored.

However, slimserver displays both .CUE files and the .m3u file and, if I
click on any of these, tries to process them and add the contents to
the playlist. I'd prefer not to see the playlist files.

Further to that, it would also be nice to be able to exclude ".aa"
files (Audible Audio), since these at basically DRM-protected and
won't play through the SB anyway...

Because of the way I am currently using my Squeezebox (mainly to play
radio programmes that I then delete) my desktop folder takes the
music, so it has a lot of non-music files.

So this option, but including subfolders as well as audio files,
would be helpful in navigating.

I've been saving all of my albums with the same method as shown by Jesse in the original post (with Cue file, log and m3u) and I'd like to ensure that these files are ignored by SlimServer.

Was there any answer found to this question in any other thread?
