I am certain I posted a comment about the Xbox as a DVD streamer the other
day - are 'questionable' messages being deleted by someone?

Do you mean this one:

http://article.gmane.org/gmane.music.equipment.slimdevices.general/18633/match=xbox

I don't believe that there is any censoring going on of this
mail list. Many discussions have taken place on Slim Devices'
competitors, and alternate solutions, and an open an honest
debate doesn't seem to be something that frightens Slim Devices.

I got it.

Jason,
Please lose the snide remarks --- you do not have enough information to have
a legitimate opinion as to what I might or might not be assuming.

Indeed I did not assume anything nor was I accusing anyone of explicit (or
even implicit) censorship.

The message in question was posted several days ago, and I have been unable
to find it days later when I went to see if there were any responses -
although every other message I have posted to this forum shows up in my
newsreader essentially immediately and my newsreader also indicates that my
xbox posting went out.

There are many reasons why a message mightn't show up, only ONE of which is
that it was explicitly deleted. Since I was (and still am) trying to figure
out what actually did happen, it is absolutely reasonable to find out if
explicit deletion might be the explanation (sadly it is in quite a few sites
on the net) and (hopefully) eliminate that as one of the possibilities. In
case you didn't know, this is called "debugging" (sigh)

I have ZERO interest in the politics of censorship (or not), I could care
less whether the messages are being deleted or not but I simply want to KNOW
so that I don't have to waste my time looking elsewhere for the problem.

David

P.S. It's tiring having to waste time responding to this kind of thing

Bizarre - I don't know why I can't find it.
