KML. Awesome. I still have some of their brew. I miss Preakness.
And the Land of Fa. Wish I would have recorded them.

I'm from there - went to school in Towson and grew up/lived
in Annapolis until about 5 years ago. Now I live in Buffalo, NY.

I was driving around up here and drove past a KML Furniture
about a month ago and have been trying to get this feed
working since 5.4 came out.

Incidentally, I have the same setup.

Wow, that's odd.... I have been trying to get KML to play on my squeeze
box
for a couple of days now... (for those outside the Baltimore area, KML
or
Kirk, Mark, and Lopez do the morning show on WIYY 98 Rock in
Baltimore)

I can tell you a few things... It is a .asx file with the following
contents...

<asx version="3.0">
<title>WIYY - WIYY</title>
<entry>
<title>98ROCK Live</title>
<Ref href="http://stream1.dc1.sonixtream.com/WIYY" />
</entry>
</asx>

I have tried using AlienBBC, but have not had any luck. I haven't spent
a
huge amount of time on it yet.

I am running FC2 to a wireless SB and a old school SLIMP3.

Where in the great state of Maryland are you? I'm in Frederick,
although I
grew up in downtown Baltimore.

Subject: [slim] New radio feed?

Guys,

I just discovered that my favorite hometown radio station
broadcasts over a system called SoniXtream
(http://www.sonixtream.com),

but I can't seem to get it working. I've tried cloning the
shoutcast and radioio plugins and getting them to work to
this service with no success. Any ideas or help?

If anyone cares - it's "98 Rock" out of Baltimore, MD
that I'm trying to listen to.

Thanks,
Paul

Right. This one can be done using AlienBBC, but it's slightly hacky.
There are two problems: Specifying the stream itself, and the fact that
there's no a file extension to tell the proxy what to do with the stream.

The first is easy to fix... make a '.pls' file in your playlists
directory, containing the following:

[playlist]
numberofentries=1
File1=http://localhost:5123/RealAudio/http://stream1.dc1.sonixtream.com/WIYY

The second is ugly, and I don't have a good design for now. Basically...
you need to tell the proxy that this stream is actually a raw stream,
not a playlist. So... change line 266 of transcoder_proxy.pl from:

if($stream =~ /\.ogg$/)

to be:

if($stream =~ /\.ogg$/ || $stream =~ /sonixtream.com/)

(And yes... I know that's ugly... but it's late.. and I haven't got a
better plan).

Restart the proxy (or just kill it, and start AlienBBC again), and
select the playlist item you just made. Listen to your stream, and be
happy ;)

Best Regards,

Jules
