from the beats music site:

http://support.beatsmusic.com/hc/communities/public/questions/200316125-Squeezebox-support?locale=en-us

So maybe if enough people vote, we'll get it supported.

Here's the text:

OFFICIAL ANSWER

Hey there, Great suggestion!

We’re making this the official place to vote for and follow updates on Squeezebox.

Please feel free to post any additional comments or feedback here as well. This feedback goes to directly to our product team who is constantly working to improve our service.

Thanks for the link. I just voted.

Just one or two more votes would push this into the top ten for their
enhancement requests.

In order to cast a vote, you do have to register with the Help site
(distinct from your Beats Music registration). Please consider taking
the time to do this, as registered votes seem to be the working metric
that gets attention for these requests.

It's at the top of the page I listed. The graphics are very subtle. There's the "question" title at the top and then below it is a number. to the right of the number is an up and down arrow for the enhancement request.

yep, very confusing. I went back and voted and it seemed to increase from 11 to 12, but it took me several tries. Very awkward site....

Hi folks,

I've lurked on this board for some time, learned a lot, but never felt I had much to contribute in the way of answering peoples' questions, offering advice, etc.

I decided to go ahead & register so I could contribute to this thread because I see an opportunity here to possibly have an impact.

I've been a home stereo enthusiast for almost my entire life, and have spent a lot of years and (considerable, though not excessive) money building my system to my satisfaction.

My squeezebox has been the single most significant component purchase since I bought my first CD player in 1987. It grieves me to no end that this incredibly robust, functional and versatile product was allowed to whither and die from corporate neglect.

While it will always have a place in my cabinet for listening to my music collection and internet radio, the ability to deliver on-demand radio has made it even more indispensable. I've been using MOG for the past year or so, and would very much like to continue.

More importantly, I fear that if Beats does decide ultimately to pass on Squeezebox, it will be just another nail in the coffin. In another year or so, Spotify or Rhapsody might change hands or change their API, SDK or whatever, thus hastening the end of mySB.com.

So I have voted and commented on the suggestion page, as well as e-mailed Beats customer service on the matter, as I know others have done. I strongly encourage all MOG users to follow suit. I might even suggest that users of other services speak up in the interests of keeping Squeezebox and mySB.com relevant.

Just wanted to back up what oldmojo says. It sounds like I am in a similar situation. It really irritates me that Logitech has screwed up such a great product line. Why did they purchase slimdevices if they wanted to do this to it ?

I don't think Logitech set out to destroy the line. What looks like malice is often simply incompetence, and after some management changes Logitech didn't understand what they had, and they really didn't know how to market it.

Fwiw, I've also voted on the Beats Music site, and written to their support team and CEO. We'll see what comes of it, but I'm afraid the SB community is a small (and shrinking) market segment.

Well, we're currently at 20 Votes and tied for ninth place on the
Enhancement Request list with "BMW Integration" and "Chromecast/Roku
Integration". Not too shabby, but just a few more votes we could really
jump up in the queue. Please vote!

I had a look at their website but it doesn't say much. Things like what are their strengths, how are they different from other music services, etc.
And it seems that this service in only available in the US(?)
Can anyone here explain why you would recommend them?

I can't say I would recommend Beats Music simply because I haven't tried it yet. So at this point for me it's mostly about having choices, and not having one less music service to choose from when Beats Music pulls the plug on MOG in less than two months.

I have been a MOG subscriber for a couple years and have been very happy with them. For US$5/month getting on-demand selections from a large library of high bitrate (mostly 320kbps) MP3s all wrapped in a very functional interface.

Will Beats be as good as MOG? I suspect not, at least not for my needs. Will it be better than alternatives such as Rhapsody and Spotify? Quite possibly, and this lobbying/voting with Beats is simply to try to make Beats one of the available options.

Huh? Last.fm? That's like voting for beats to add support for spotify!

Well, Spotify DOES have support for Last.fm.

You can use Last.fm's "loves" and recommendations with a number if services.
I like that a lot and all but stopped rating my own library, instead adding Last.fm "love" to use it with Spotify.

Ah yes. I agree that last.fm *scrobbling* is very useful and I use it myself. I was only thinking about the music streaming aspect of last.fm. And I'm shocked that almost any modern music service doesn't allow scrobbling. Although I guess iTunes doesn't without some extra steps.
