I bought a Gigabyte Brix (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4742#ov) mini computer to replace my Sheevaplug. I always found the Sheevaplug a little underperforming and was not able to do any sox transcoding reliable. Installed Ubuntu Server 13.10 and hooked the Brix up to a new Toshiba 3Tb USB3 drive. What a performance! Near silent and plenty of horse power. Running LMS 7.8 and serving 3 Squeezeboxes (2 playing hirez with sox) barely pushed the CPU usage to 10%. The little thing also runs Webmin, Transmission, Minidlna (for movies to my TV) and CrashPlan to back everything up. And IPeng on the IPad is so much more responsive than before.

Highly recommended as a low energy LMS.
