Hello Everyone,
Long time SB user here. I just purchased my 4th SB Radio, and converted it to use LMS, without incident.

I've always assumed that no matter what, I could just run these Radios, without any Logitech support, using LMS.

My question is the email & pw that I have to enter into each radio to get it working on my server. What happens WHEN Logitech decides to shut down the MySqueezebox sites? Will these SB Radios no longer work without those servers to validate the login?

I just bought an UE radio and converted it to the Squeezebox firmware. When it prompted me for my mysqueezebox login I just turned it off. When I turned it back on, it went right to the main menu and hasn't asked for the login since so it seems that a login is not required.

I believe there is some key combination you can enter to skip the registration (don't remember exactly which one).
Also, it will only validate and ask for your credentials if you do a factory reset.

Thank you both for the information. I'll breath a little easier now. :)

Of course, none of the subscription services will work any longer if mysqueezebox.com is ever shut down. Not unless someone can come up with a third party plugin that works for them, which is unlikely for most services.
