Default Ubuntu wireless driver issue impacting Squeezebox

Hi All,

Please see a thread that I posted on the 'General Discussion' forum

http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53534

I intially thought this was due to interference however worked out it was related to the wireless card/driver with Ubuntu hardy, and that the speed/performance was poor. Has anyone else experienced similar problems and have any tips to fix ?

I have searched the Ubuntu forums and seems to be a common problem for different wireless cards, I'm currently using a Dell Inspiron 1300 with a Broadcom 4318 card using the B43 drivers to enable (rather then Ndiswrapper).

It also looks a fix could be on the way with 8.10 but any fixes in the short term would be appreciated

Thanks
Ian
