Five Free Flacs

Head over to http://throwingmusic.com/freemusic/ to pick up some free tracks, in FLAC or MP3, by Kristin Hersh's band 50FootWave. There are also some free MP3s from her album The Grotto (more to my personal taste), and from her earlier band Throwing Muses.

The press release for the 50FootWave material (http://www.throwingmusic.com/freemus...reeMusicPR.pdf) is an interesting read and, in my opinion, displays an admirable approach to music promotion. I'll be looking for where I can buy at least one of her albums - so I guess that validates the method!

I have been a long time fan of Throwing Muses (did you know that it was Throwing Muses who brought the Pixies to 4AD Records' attention?)
I guess if you like them and buy some of their older stuff, then the "give flacs away for free" thing worked, eh?

My point exactly, Cody! It's a shame that other artists (AFAIK) don't follow this example...
