Cant get 24/96 files to play with EDO mod into dac....Unsupported Sample rate

Works great up to 44k but shows 96k tracks as "Unsupported Sample Rate"
Looking at the EDO settings Digital Output > USB > Rates:
    shows as 32000,44100,48,000....but no 96000.

My Dac (Beresford Caiman) definately does 96k so I'm a bit confused?

I really like the sound improvement using EDO via USB, but how can I get my 96k files to play!!!

    thanks.

Check with Beresford if >48 k is supported on USB this is not always the case on all DAC's ,
Hmm why is not LMS downsampling to 48k ? Must admitt that I don't know enough to figure it out ( the sox downsampling will sound identical thus solving your problem ) are you streaming everything as PCM/WAV instead of flac ? On what server version ?

    thanks for the reply.

I'm using the latest software (7.2.2 is it?) and I've set Flac to be decoded on the server rather than native on the Touch.
I have another dac I can hook my Touch up to and try that to compare.

I've asked too elsewhere if the Dac usb does do 24/96.

    *edit*
Think my Dac only goes up to 44....
    damn.

OK..so the problem I guess is why isn; the Touch downsampling 24/96 to 16/44...?
    hmnn...will check the Advanced/File settings

    thanks.

Yes but did you try to have all default settings in file types , you usually breaks transcoding when you disable native flac ??

Maybe Triode can answer this normally Touch reports to the server as 24/96 capable , EDO changes that is telling the server that 24/192 is ok or does it adapt to the actual rates reported by the USB DAC people are using ?

It reports the max rate alsa reports to it. I don't know what it is reporting in this case, but the debugs should show.

    Triode,
does EDO kick in before SOX transcoding?

I ask as a custom.config.conf set to downsample 24/96 to 16/44 does NOT work with EDO but works ok playing 24/96 played via spdif...

    thanks.
