Hi
We just bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab2 Android tablet, so checking out the Logitech Squeezebox app, I can still sync my lounge and kitchen rooms OK, however I can only seem to control the volume level of each room independently? I can't move the volume up and down and have the volume level in both rooms change together?
I am sure on my Apple iPod Touch this works OK,
any ideas?
Thanks

Just had a look at the Logitech Squeezebox app on the iOS device and its the same on there as well you have to select the room and then you can control the volume of that room but you don't have a master volume control to control the volume of both rooms that are in sync.
Maybe I was thinking of the iPeng app on the iOS device that does it. No iPeng for Android, any recommendations for a 3rd party Logitech Squeezebox app for Android like iPeng?
Cheers

Yes, it's an iPeng feature.

You could do it at the server instead of at the controller/mobile app. Set LMS to sync the volume on sync'd players. I believe the setting is under Settings > Player on the LMS web interface.
Note that this syncs the volume at the same level, ie, if it's 50% on one player then it is 50% on all players. There is also the SyncOptions plugin, and that does allow for moving volume up/down on sync'd players, and doesn't require them to be at the same volume level.

Excellent, never heard of either of those things, will check it out, the SyncOptions plugin sounds better, the kitchen speakers are not as good as the hifi ones on the AVR in the lounge, so when I ramp it up in the lounge I wouldn't want the ones in the kitchen to be ramped up to the same level, but like with the ipeng app you could have one rooms level lower and the other rooms higher, but when you moved the volume slider up both rooms would increase if that makes sense.

Just installed SyncOptions plugin on the LMS and it seems to be working! Need to test it a bit more, make sure I am happy with it.
This is how the feature is described in the SyncOptions Plugin:
RELATIVE VOLUME SYNCHRONIZATION
Whether volume changes in one synced player should cause proportionate changes in the other players with which it is synced. For instance, if you have Squeezebox A at volume 50, Squeezebox B at volume 60 and you increase the volume on Squeezebox A to 75, then Squeezebox B would increase its volume to 90.
Hoping I can just use the Logitech Squeezebox app on both the iOS and Android devices, rather than having different apps / UIs on each platform.
Thanks

SqueezeCommander on Android has the relative volume sync feature as well and has a somewhat similar UI to iPeng.
But SyncOptions might do the trick, too.
And if you frequently control more than one Squeezebox you'll start using iPeng and SqueezeCommander sooner or later anyway
