Hi,
I'm surprised ! This little gem from SolidRun is quite new and available in small quantities but I was expecting to see here and there in the forums people discussing around it but I found none.
So I do run LMS off a Cubox and I must say it's a brilliant piece of hardware. Mine runs a Debian of an external SSD connected through eSATA.
The 800Mhz ARM CPU and 1GB RAM are quite sufficient to run LMS and all the rest of my stuff (home automation, IP cams monitoring, etc). It serves a boom and a radio without a hickup, even in sync mainly mp4 from app store, flac and mp3. Response through web interface and SB is fast, nearly instant response I would say.
So yes, this is some kind of incentive for people to look at Cubox as it is really nice, albeit more expensive than a raspberry PI at 100EUR. I don't have shares in the company, I'm just in love with the hardware :-)
Regards
Marc

I'm surprised this was the only thread on the Cubox. It looks like the perfect device assuming you only need S/PDIF. Does anyone else use it? How does it work as a player only?

There are many posts about cubox in other threads. A search will find them such as

I have been unsuccessful getting it working on the Cubox following these instructions.
http://www.solid-run.com/mw/index.ph...m#Installation
I get the archive copied onto a SD card with ext4, but when I boot it, it never gets a DHCP address so I can't go any further.

valnar got it working, with the help of the CuBox forum.
For others, there is a difference in network between the CuBox v1 and v2 (eth0 vs eth1).
I have uploaded a new version of the installation that should correct this problem. It should now be possible for all CuBox owner to easily create a Squeezebox with a CuBox.My patch: Reduce brightness when screen saver is active for Touch (and maybe Radio)
