Everytime a cleanup from de Cache purge activate the Squeezeboxes disconnect from server for a minute or two..
Can I influence the time of day when this happens. And how important is this cleanup?

The purge should not be run if any SB is playing.

No, you can't influence it.

FWIW: 7.7 has highly improved caching code.
