BBC live does not work through DAC

I can access internet radio on my SBT as expected. When I go to BBC iplayer, it plays the recorded programs on the various channels but does not play the live broadcast.
After assessing variables I discovered that this only happens when the SBT is connected to my external DAC (an old Wadia12). When I connect the SBT to my amp via analogue outputs, the BBC live plays fine.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? I suspect it is because my DAC is several years old, but it would be interesting to see if it happens on newer DACs, and what the explanation is for this behaviour.

What sampling frequencies does it accept ? the wadia 12 .

Radio is very often 48kHz but in some cases also 32kHz .

it can also be a word length problem for the old DAC keep the squeezebox volume at 100% and try again

If I remember correctly it is 44.1 and 48. I'll check when I get home whether it automatically detects the frequency or if I have to manually select 48kHz. I've only used it with CDs at 44.1kHz.
Will also try the volume setting.

If you are not in tthe UK and using AAC streams - then BBC have recently changed live http/AAC streams from 48kbps/44.1kHz to 56kbps/32kHz. There was a choice for a while but it now seems to have gone.

I think the WMA streams are still 48kbps/44.1kHz.

I suggest change the BBCiPlayer setting for live stream to choose WMA format

ok I had a look at this.
My DAC does 32, 44.1 and 48kHz. It selects these automatically depending on the incoming signal. I tried using maximum volume but BBC live wouldn't play.

How do I choose WMA for live stream?

If you are using the BBCiPlayer plugin then got to the iPlayer Setting page WebUI Settings/Plugins/BBc iPlayer Settings and then change "Live stream Preference" to WMA and click Apply.

BBC iplayer just comes up by itself. I don't recall setting up any plug-ins. Will have a look later when I get home.

The BBc iPlayer plugin is a 3rd party plugin that has to be installed by the user in LMS.

There is a 3rd Party BBC iplayer Applet which can be installed on the Touch and does not need a LMS. This needs to be installed by the user from Touch Applet Installer or App Gallery/3rd Party Apps.

There is a Logitech BBC Radio App which only provides live BBC Radio (which happen to be WMA) - this has to be installed by the user from the Touch App Gallery.

All of these options requires the user to "install" something.

I've just installed the BBC applet on the touch, which plays live but not recorded BBC content. This also does not play through the DAC.
