    Weird characters in music folder

    Hi,

I'm having a weird issue on both the server and my radio. When I'm browsing my music in "music folder", accentuated characters appear wrong, like Gâtechien instead of Gâtechien or RocĂ© instead of Rocé. What is really weird is that in the database directories (artists, albums, years ...) everything is fine.
I'm running LMS 7.7.2 on Arch Linux.
    Any idea ?

It's not really that weird. The database entries are reading the tags, whereas "Music Folder" is reading the file and folder names. It would appear that your language (locale) settings aren't consistent across the OS, LMS, and Radio. So when LMS sees an 8-bit character in the file or folder name it mangles it. Unfortunately I'm not near my SB system now to be able to tell where to go to adjust the settings.

Exactly ! The server is complaining in the log that the locale is set to "C" and I might have problem with filename. Adding the line export LANG=en_US.UTF-8 in the starting script solved it. Thanks for your help,

Great. Glad the solution was so straightforward.
