Really annoying library issue with artist names.

I'm having an issue with the media server that's REALLY starting to annoy me. I've had a Boom for years now, but the server (a Mac Mini) that I was running it off of suffered a hardware failure about three years ago, and I only just now got around to replacing the hard drive in it (I was using mysqueezebox.com until I got around to slapping a new hard drive in the thing).

I mention this because I never had this problem with whatever ancient version of SlimServer I was running.

Now that I'm back up and running again I'm having a problem where it decides to take every small variance in tags and make it a new artist. For example, I have "The Falcon" and "Falcon, The". I have "Lawrence Arms, The" and "The Lawrence Arms". I have "System of a Down" and "System Of A Down". I went in and fixed the tags and forced a refresh on my media library. All this did was leave the wrong tagged ones and also put the album under the correct one. I ran a cleanup on the music library. I ran a "Clear library and rescan". I checked to make sure the sort tags were right. I'm running out of ideas and this is soooooo annoying.

Try the Clean Cache in LMS then full rescan? Maybe that is what you meant when you say you ran a cleanup on the music library.
