Most (not all) my Albums are grouped in the 'Various Artists' folder. How to correct?

Hi All,

Like this subject has been explained elsewhere on this forum before: Most (not all) my Albums are grouped in the 'Various Artists' folder on the Touch. How to correct?


I am running my music folder from an USB stick plugged in the Squeezebox Touch (and as such use the TinySBS in the machine for streaming it)

- I ripped all my CD's correctly in a consistent file structure (Artist Name - Album Name - Track No. - Track Name)
- Those are all stored in one folder, which I copied to the USB stick.
- When I go then on the Touch to: "My Music" -> "Artist", it shows then the "Various Artists" folder and under that you see then most (but not all!) my ripped CD's.

There are 2 weird things I hope somebody can explain to me:

1) Why does the Touch show almost all my CD's under the "Various Artists" folder, although these CD's are not compilation CD's of various artists but practically all are CD's of individual artists?
2) And the very few CD's which are not in this "Various Artists" folder, those are shown on the Touch under "My Music" -> "Artist" in a very simple listing without album art, etc. How is that possible?

How can this all be corrected?

It's the tag information that matters, not the filenames.
