Thats what i do I have an 5.1 setup with subwoofer and further all my speakers are digital so i got even more reason not to use the analog out .

IMHO with modern HT gear an analog sources is an anachronism , the analog inputs are for legacy support of old whs and tape decks or vinyl .
Last night I was recomparing between 2 channels "Direct" and Stereo mode (2 channels plus my subs)... In the stereo mode, sound just lights up... and it was very troubling to me... why so much difference...

LOL, this morning I just realized why this could be... In my intial setup (After I run Audyssey setup)... I set the crossovers at 100Hz for all my speakers (the same as setting speakers to small) so that anything below this goes to my subs... Obviously this is the reason that I can't feel the bass when I only play my 2 fronts...

Edit: Today, I tried adjusting the cross overs for my front speakers but no much of a difference... In any case, I wouldn't want to use only a 2 channel... Since I would prefer to use my separate subs...

    So it is!

I actually looked when I responded to the post, and it wasn't there. I suspect that when I went to logitech.com it defaulted to the Canadian site (where I live) rather than to the US site, and I didn't notice; the Canadian site does not have the Transporter.

I'm not at all sure that you'd get better sound quality for your purposes out of the TP, compared to the Touch. Maybe. The Touch is excellent kit, and I'd bet in a blind test with pretty much any equipment no difference would be heard.

Wanted to say that I just got my Squeezebox Touch and I'm really impressed !!

Tough to compare audio quality for Spotify playback with my Integra.... They both sound great... And that's what I was looking for

I purchased the SquuezePad and really love this app !!! It's a shame that third parties build better apps

I actually have a SONOS Connect on the way too. I wanted to compare with the touch but I'm so happy with the touch that I probably tell the driver to return to sender

Got some CD's coming in and curious if I'll be able to tell the difference in audio quality... Compared to playing same songs on Spotify

BTW, one thing that I have noticed... Is that the Squeezebox Touch seems to freeze once in a while... I have tried to unplug device and then connect it back... but still seems to freeze.

Is this a known issue ?

No, Shouldn't be happening. I can stream for days with no freezes or dropouts. When you say freeze, what exactly is the behavior?
    Location 1: VortexBox Appliance 6TB (2.2) > LMS 7.7.2 > Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet)

Ripping (FLAC) - dbpoweramp, Tagging - mp3tag, Spotify

Playing around with the Touch... I've been switching songs around... When it freezes (if I remember correctly) I do see artist on the screen but with a "play" sign ">" over artist... I try switching songs but no sound. In one scenario it did say that it restarted and asked if I wanted to send info to Logitech....

I think I rebooted device twice... and haven't seen it freeze since....

If you are using the Touch's inbuilt server with a USB drive it can crash it's tiny server if you are navigating the menu's while it is trying to scan the USB drive.

When it froze, I was only playing Spotify...

Also, for some reason it's not reading my music folders in my PC where I have Logitech Media Server running.. (I'm thinking it's because I have a powerline adapter). But don't mind too much... I have Synology NAS Server on the way... Where I plan to connect to my Synology to the router and the router will be connected to the Touch... (this should do the trick).

I do have a question regarding connecting the Touch with an ethernet cable vs wireless. In my setup, I'm currently connecting with ethernet cable but router is sitting almost next to router... and was wondering of having one less cable... I understand cable is better vs wireless... but if I have a good connection... will it matter going wireless ?

But which server are you connected to. The one with LMS on your computer, tinyLMS, or mysb.com.

Re wifi, nothing wrong with wifi connection for touch, but if Ethernet is available easily, this is always better in my opinion (wifi interference, crowded Carnell's, etc). And why not put the router and nas far away from listening spot (where touch is located)

Can I assume LMS stands for Logitech Media Server ?

If so, LMS is running on my desktop PC. What is tinyLMS ? Also, I know I registered to mysb.com

OK... I'll keep the touch connected to ethernet cable...
