SBR won't play more than 10 minutes without turning itself off. But it's not like it's turning itself, more like it's on pause, since tapping the big knob starts the station playing immediately again.
And I've noticed that it will sometimes just turn itself on too.
I recently downloaded the squeezebox app for iPad, and wonder if something there is affecting performance. I quit the program, but the problem continues, so my guess is that the iPad app has nothing to do with the issue.
I've looked over past forums, and a year ago there was a similar problem that people said had to do with synch. I've got nothing to do synch and do nothing with synch, so I suspect that's also not involved here.
However, this has appeared in these forums before. But I can't find anyone who found a solution. Is there one?

Check for duplicate IP's on your network, your Radio may be using the same IP as another device on your network.
Turn off all alarms, if any.
Try a Factory Reset:
- power off Radio (press & hold POWER button, see "goodbye" on screen)
- press & hold “+” button
- power ON Radio
- continue holding “+” until you see "Factory Settings Restored"
- wait till Radio completely reboots on it’s own

Solved!
It turns out that Pause button was on. Since I only listen to the radio, I'm not even sure what a pause button does or why I would have activated it. In any case, it doesn't Pause the radio but turns it on and off now and then. Maybe it's got something to do with buffering? Hardly predictable behavior, but at least I'm back to normal dropouts and other problems that I can better understand.

Pause is needed on internet streams when used with subscription services where you can Pause/Stop the stream then pick up where you left off. When you pause the stream the Radio enters Standby and displays whatever screen you have selected to display for Standby, usually the basic clock.
