Hi.
I've installed the media server on Ubuntu 12.04 and I've made a folder with my MP3 files.
From my Squeezebox Touch, I can see all the artist and scroll through my music. But when I select a title and want to play it, I get an error: Cannot request non-HTTP URL.
Is it a firewall issue?
Or what do I look for?
Thanks in advance.
Regards Jesper

Did you turn on a firewall? Like UFW? Ubuntu has no firewall by default.

No, I have not turned on the firewall. I have tryied to turn it off.
What is the problem then?
Why can I scroll trough the music collection on the Squeezebox Touch, but get an error when I try to play a number?
All music is standard MP3, copyed from a windows computer to the Ubuntu computer.

What about file permissions on the mp3 files? I am using ubuntu for my server but I'm relatively new. I have read something somewhere aobut the permissions for files copied from windows may be off on ubuntu. You may need to change them.
a) Can you play them directly on the ubuntu machine? I.e. does your user have access to them?
b) The server on unbuntu has its own specific user and that user needs to be able to read the files also.Louis

Check file permissions for the files and the folders te reside in. There's a thread re setting the Finland folder permissions in the Linux forum.
Linux finally gets a great audio tagger: puddletag - now packaged in most Linux distributions.
