That would be ... the Vortexbox Appliance.
In my view the Vortexbox Appliance was too much $$ because I don't mind (ok, I actually enjoy) opening the case to install RAM and hard drive, and then installing a Linux operating system. Doing that myself saved me some $. But if you want something that works straight out of the box, you have to pay that extra $.
Of course, a lot of other users on this forum have put together barebone computers as dedicated LMS servers for themselves and/or friends. There are some examples in these threads:
