    Infuriating random connection problems.

My touch, when it's working is great. At the moment however it is going through one of it's tempramental stages when it becomes infuriating.

Apparently at random my controller fails to see the touch and connect with it making the whole thing useless. What makes the whole thing defy logic is that I have three different controllers - squeezebox, ipeng and orange squeeze. When one of these fails more often than not another will decide to work (seemingly at random - I had a spell of ipeng working really well and then the connection just crashed).

This is realy realy doing my head in as all my music is listened to through the touch. Help!!!!

    Cheers - Robert.

sounds more like a WIFI issue. use inSSIDer to see local WIFI networks and use a low use nearby channel, 1, 6, or 11 are best as they don't overlap other channels. Don't use > 11. And note that even if your other wifi stuff seems to be working fine, network music players can put more strain on WIFI and you notice things that are not noticeable when browsing the web on a laptop.

also note that even if WIFI strength at the touch and controllers are 100%, that doesn't mean that there is not other interference.

also make sure your TOUCH is connected do your local LMS (and not directly to mysqueezebox.com instead). As the controllers are trying to talk to your local LMS (that in turn talks to the TOUCH).

You might also want to experiment w router placement. My PC and router are on the 2nd floor and there is a Touch on the 1st floor as well as in the basement. I origonally had my router on a table near the PC. I then put it on the floor which improved things but I still had dropouts. I then turned the router on its side and rarely have problems now. I have the floor marked w masking tape in case it accidentally gets moved.

This might also be worth looking at.

Right I've switched channels to something less congested - so fingers crossed. I have yet to try your second point but I'm starting to worry that I havent a clue what you are talking about - lol.

On another point I'm getting a lot of '502 bad gateway' messages when I'm trying to listen to tracks or albums on Spotify.

    Any thoughts gratefully received.

agree. at my brother's house, moving the router about 6 inches improved his wifi by leaps and bounds.

not sure if that's the problem, but with logitech spotify app (not triode's 3rd party spotify plugin), there seem to be lots of cases where spotify will show you tracks but not be able to play them (wrong country, etc.). Or this could just be another issue with buggy connection in your LAN.
