Where does my Squeeezebox get it's internet connection from?

Hi,

Where does my Squeeezebox (Boom, if it matters) get its internet connection from?

Is it the Modem/Router that the device is connected to, or is it the settings on the computer that the squeezebox server is on? (Assuming that I'm using Squeeezebox server,. not mysqueeezebox.com)?
I'm wanting to use a vpn or DNS service for some of my media connections (including the Squeezebox), but not for others (my stand alone IPTV box provided by my ISP).

I'm hoping that if I set up the internet connection properties on the windows box hosting my Squeezebox server, these will be picked up by the Squeezebox. Is this the case? Is there another way to achieve this?

The network equipment in your LAN probably connects to the internet over the IPTV from you ISP. Knowing neither brand nor setup (wired? wireless? LAN-switches?) I resort to guess work but presuming that the equipment from your ISP has a wireless access point it will likely also contain a router that acts as a gateway between LAN and WAN (the Internet).
However, if your Boom uses logiteche media server all traffic will go over this. Only if you use mysqueezebox it will going directly to the router and you can switch off your PC

I didn't need to find out in the end. My set top box allowed be to enter a set of connection properties, so I put my ISP ones in there, which overrode the VPN ones I use in the router.
