Folks, this is my first post here, thanks for creating the community. I've been looking for the right places to sing the praises of the person, Thomas, his name is, behind this website: (Sorry, but because this is my first post, I could not include link) But you can find him at squeezeplug[DOT]eu
After years and years of trying to get a simple sever (music and photo) on my NSLU2, with no luck, and then getting a pink pogo, with intermittment work, I found that website. And within a hour or so, I had 90 per cent of it done.
What a wonder! ...a blessing, what a wonder, really, a wonder.
And I wrote to the author, Thomas, and he responded with such a kind note, and offer of help I could not imagine.
Bright people like him need to be running the political and economic affairs of this world, as he can make it a better place.
His image for pogo, and I imagine, for all other slimdevices that he supports is as easy to get up and going as is plugging a keyboard into a computer.
Since installing his Dockstar and GoFlex Images on my pogoplug, the thing has been running without a headache. I can trust it's there working as much as I can trust that the sun is up in the sky.
This is simply amazing. Really, really stupendous!
I only wished he support NSLU2, as I have one I'd like to put to use without the pain. For at least two years, I read in forums how people get theirs working, no such luck with mine.
Now with Thomas's image on my pogo, all I do is hit the remote on the soundbridge, turn on the amp, and there! music for my ears. What a wonder. And now he's told me, just as I was about to fret, that pictures are supported too. He should me how to mount another HD for pictures, and bam! it's working. I'm no longer afraid of working on my pogo, as I was when I set it up before, fearing I'd wreck it. I'm going to ram this up with HD like no one's business.
The only issue I have this far is that I can't search the server, I have to scroll down a lot to get to an artist or album I want, and if you're like me, with loads of music, this could take time. But I'm not complaning at all....not against a package like this that takes the pain out of computing, is so sensible, so brilliant, so easy, so wonderful and ah! what can I say, so life changing.
Thanks Thomas and may all those who love you and those that you love, keep on loving. You deserve to live until the seas dry.
Thanks a million!
Now I'm very, very tempted to buy a Rasberry pi. And I think I willl.
