    Setup for multiple players.

New to LMS and still trying to figure out how everything works. I want to use this remotely and I'll be connecting from different IP addresses. When I connect from a new IP address, it looks like I have to set which songs/playlist to use. How do I set it up so that when a new player connects to the server it automatically uses all the songs in my library?

    Thanks.

Not at all. When you connect remotely (normally,) the entire library will be available. The remote player will point to the "whole" server.

Then how do I make that happen?

Every time I connect from an new IP address, it doesn't start automatically. In the media player all I get is the "Welcome to Logtech Media Server" and nothing is playing. When I go into the media server, I see the new IP address and there are no songs associated with that player at the new IP address. I have to assign the songs/playlists to the player at that IP address and then it starts playing.

    Am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks.

Each player has its own playlist. When you login using a different IP, you are essentially setting up a NEW PLAYER. Once setup, if you log back in from the same IP, your playlists will be there. There's no way around this. The server just looks at it as a new device... which it is.

Sorry, I didn't grok the question.

There is a plug-in that lets you copy playlists from player to player. See "Switch Player" in the plugin section.
