So all you want to use with Last.fm + SqueezeBox is the scrobbling feature, correct? Cuz Last.fm free accounts cannot stream stations on SqueezeBox or any other hardware device except a computer running the Last.fm player..

    Yes.

I'm sure this is a simple feature. It has to be...

    I have:
    - A Squeezebox Touch
    - The 'free' last.fm. No fancy stuff, just the 'simple' scrobbling feature. Had this for ~5 years; all working OK.

All I want to do is change my password for this account on my Squeezebox Touch. i.e. the bit accessed via Settings/Advanced/Last.fm Audioscrobbler.

    Nice and simple, right?

    How do I do it?

Go to LMS > SETTINGS > PLUGINS. Scroll down to last.fm Audioscrobbler. Click on SETTINGS button to the right of this. check box next to existing last.fm account to remove. Hit apply at bottom of page. Then go back to this page and enter account name and your new password.

Then make sure that under each player (LMS > Settings > Players) you have the player itself set to scrobble.

Don't know if this is required, but I also have last.fm added as an app under myapps in mysqueezebox.com. And on the settings page there I've given it my last.fm username and password.

And all I have is the free last.fm account (that I use strictly for scrobbling)

If the simple steps described several times in this thread, and you are in a Last.fm allowed region, do not resolve the issue I'd suggest contacting support. Obviously it works for others scrobbling to a free Last.fm account.

    Thanks!

I failed to mention that I was trying to avoid installing/running LMS. With the Squeezebox Touch I was after a simple networked player that could hook into Spotify/Deezer/USB hard drive/etc without the need for running a computer (i.e. LMS). All has, kind of, worked as planned to date.

Anyway, I installed LMS as suggested to test and it half worked. When I'm connected via LMS it scrobbles, but as soon as I switch it off and go back to MySqueezebox.com it doesn't work. Very odd.

I don't understand why there are unnecessary hoops just for changing a simple password... What I'd like to do long-press my scrobbling username (under Squeezebox Touch/Settings/Advanced/Last.fm Audioscrobbler) and then have the option to change its password. That seems to make sense to me anyhow.

I'm away from home, so can't check, but I recall that I scrobbling working when using only mysqueezebox.com. I assume you've added last.fm as an app to your myapps (from app gallery), and then in the myapps webpage listing, you've entered your settings (name and password) for last.fm.

I did not have this app installed and it worked perfectly on the Touch for 18 months.

This app is not available for installation in Australia. I therefore changed my country to UK to get it installed.

No change. It still will not scrobble.

This is ridiculous and way too complicated for a "simple" change. How do I moan to Logitech? I'm hoping they will read this and see/realise...

    Thanks, Andrew

Hmm. Very odd. They don't read these forums. You could try posting on the official Logitech squeezebox forums. But I'm not sure you will get much satisfaction there either. Scrobbling is working for users so I still believe that there is likely some idiosyncratic issue specifically related to your settings, etc. but I'm out of ideas to test. Good luck.
