    Web Server Port Number changing dynamically

    I have the following server that runs well.

    Logitech Media Server Version: 7.7.2 - r33893 @ Wed Mar 14 05:47:42 PDT 2012
    Hostname: HomePC
    Server IP Address: 10.0.0.22
    Server HTTP Port Number: 9002
    Operating system: Windows 7 - EN - cp1252
    Platform Architecture: 8664
    Perl Version: 5.14.1 - MSWin32-x86-multi-thread
    Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.34_01 (sqlite 3.7.7.1)
    Total Players Recognized: 3

    The HTTP port number I specified is not being used. Instead the server changed it from 9001 to 9002 automatically.

    I have no other services running on port 9001.

    Here are related logs...
    [12-06-23 01:18:07.7761] Slim::Web::HTTP:penport (188) Can't setup the listening port 9000 for the HTTP server: Bad file descriptor
    [12-06-23 01:18:07.7773] Slim::Web::HTTP:penport (188) Can't setup the listening port 9001 for the HTTP server: Bad file descriptor
    [12-06-23 01:18:08.8148] Slim::Web::HTTP:penport (205) Previously configured port 9000 was busy - we're now using port 9002 instead
    [12-06-23 01:18:08.8156] Slim::Web::HTTP:penport (208) Please make sure your firewall does allow access to port 9002!

    Why is the server changing it's http port automatically and how can I force it to use the one I choose?

    As the log clearly states " Previously configured port 9000 was busy"

    Some other program is using that port , do you for example have twonky or some other media server installed ?
    Twonkys default port is also 9000 I think you can change that in never twonky versions but maybe noit a seasy as in LMS , older version of twonky could not
    have their port changed at all , hence LMS havinga mechanism to change port manually, or automatically if needed if you configure a busy port.

    Just change LMS to anything but 9001 & 9002. I use 9010 myself.

    Web Server Port Number changingdynamically

    > anyone know why LMS web port dynamically changes???

    The web port changes if the "old" port is used by some other application.
