post now playing to facebook wall

Hi all, im lost, I've read that since facebook was inplemented to squeezebox that it will post the now playing to my facebook wall and such. I haven't found a way to figure this out. Everytime I click facebook it directs me to my squeezebox, and it stops the music, and obviosuly im not on my own library anymore so it wont post the song or whatever.

Does anyone have a rundown of how to get this going on the touch or any of the squeezeboxes?

Don't use it myself, but according to the App page:

"When you're ready to share your music with friends and family press the More (+) button from the Now Playing screen and select Share this on Facebook. The song you are listening to will appear on your Facebook wall."

yea, that's what I thought as well, unfortunately the page we're reading that on says for the Squeezebox Radio, it doesn't say anything about the Touch. But when you click more and such on the song you want to try and share, it doesn't have an option to post it to facebook.

I'm looking to have the squeezebox post whatever I'm listening to, much like spotify does when you are listening to spotify on a computer... I would like it to post it automatically as well...

You have to check some things:

- go to www.mysqueezebox.com and login. Add the Facebook app to your apps. Fill in your facebook info and select which of your squeezeboxes you want to use for Facebook.
- Make sure that the facebook plugin is loaded in your local LMS server. (plugins page)

Hopefully it not broken the Facebook plugin was broken last time I tried , but it needs improvement so it migth stay broken until you actually can type your own comments to the music you post and having the cover art instead of picture of a squeezebox.

Edit: I used it a couple of times when it worked it worked from all players and web-UI and iPeng .

Edit 2: before you miss understnds me, it is nice to have ,but a very unimportant feature, there would be no problems finding >200 bugs with more urgent needs .

I have it installed and configured on mysqueezebox but I can't seem to find it anywhere on the plugins page of the LMS. I remember seeing it there once. Even doing a find on the page, it's no where on the list of plugins..

Any other suggestion on what I need to get this going or is it like Mnyb said and that it might be broken? Although there are a ton of bugs that do need to get looked into, this should be one of them. Why offer something that doesn't work?

Anyways, if someone else could check to see if it's working for them and or what I'm doing wrong..

Okay, so I had to reinstall LMS in order to get facebook integration to work again. Now it works and I have the "Post to Facebook" option.

They really need to get the automatic post working, some type of automatic posting would be great, just like Spotify does.

Does it work properly for you ? If I do it the post gets malformed ,all artist and song info disappears for me and the post does not appear in the newsfeed ( on LMS 7.8 ) .

Auto posting ? Really, if my friends did that i had to ignore them , the newsfeed would turn to spamm really quick ? Phew it can get to much already with just the occasional spotify or YouTube clips , it would be more irritating than those games .
would you want every tune posted ? Non addicted only check fb a couple of times a day so their newsfeed would only be playlist interrupted by the occasional relevant post by a friend or family member .
Believe me absolutely no one is interested in every tune you listen to .

I try post tunes to highlight something really special that I think my friends should hear.

Social media means a human thats posts stuff, that's the piont for me , not some bot capability in our apps doing it for us .

Facebook is not that dim.
With OpenGraph you have pretty fine-grained control over how and what you want to post. You can have all your music listening recorded on facebook, but people would have to look into your App Statistics to learn about it (on the timeline). And then you can decide on single tracks that you want to share them, for example.

It's quite powerful but requires quite a bit of work and also backend hosting on the using App's side.

I can't get this to work. The plugin is checked on LMS. The app is installed on mysqueezebox.com but I cannot connect mysqueezebox with facebook. Pressing the button "connect with facebook" doesn't do anything at all, in any browser I tried
