    No, Mp3tag isn't writing ID3v2. It just leaves it alone.


    Instead of Cut/Paste, try using Remove/Undo. That's Ctrl-R/Ctrl-Z, or use the two buttons next to each other, the red X and the blue arrow.

    If your flacs are on a Linux box, or if you have access to one (e.g. boot a windows box using a Linux live cd) then you could use Robin Bowes' fix for this from seven years ago: http://robinbowes.com/article.php/2005080815102187
