If your controller can control the Touch, then it's connected to both your network and able to "see" your server. Make sure you do what was described in post #2 to actually enable playback on the controller, otherwise it won't show up as a player. Be aware that the ability for the controller to act as a portable player is, and ALWAYS will be a "beta" feature. The other common issue is that it won't automatically switch between internal speaker and headphone output. If this problem occurs, you should install the "headphone switcher" applet to allow you to manually chose between the headphone and the internal speaker.

Thanks to all of you for your help I managed to borrow a modem router last night and put everything in to the same unit so that my powerline / lap top / X Box are all plugged in to the same router and the Controller was reset and connected to the Wirless from that router alone.
I also went through the enable for playback as inidcated and still nothing . However just incase I shut down my LMS and then restarted it and the controller popped up as a player and I was able to select it and drift between my Library and internet radio etc. I did notice that it would sometimes not switch to headphones and your explanation of this gives me a solution to that thank you will load the app tonight.
I want to use the controller as a player to just listen to some things at night in bed while my wife is asleep and listening last night the output (through headphones) was very good more than good enough on Internet Radio and very good when playing my radio . I do not have either a tablet or android phone and in the UK the entry level is about £100 for the cheapest tablet . As I have a Kindle , two lap tops and a full iPod Classic I pretty much have all the uses of a tablet covered . My phone is a compnay mobile and they only use Blackberry phones which are not suitable . Given that the controller was on offer at £50 brand new I think it will do everything that I want and more and the price makes it a simple choice.
Now that it is working right and I know that it is just the network issues I can install the new better modem router I have bought when it arrives and I should be able to get relatively trouble free wireless operation .
Once again thanks you all for your help and patience .
