I have just bought a Contoller to use with my SBT . I have been able to get the Controller connected to my Network and the SBT and I can control the SBT . However I am not able to get the controller on its own to output any sound via the head phoe socket .
Whatever I choose to play shows on the screen but no sound comes from the controller . I am also not able to get the controller to connect with squeezebox.com but it does connect to the SBT .

in the controller go to: SETTINGS > ADVANCED > BETA FEATURES > Audio Playback, then activate the playback.
regarding getting mysb.com connection, I'm not sure, but it seems that you can do a factory reset on the Controller and it should ask you for your mysb.com credentials....Location 1: VortexBox Appliance 6TB (2.2) > LMS 7.7.2 > Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet)
Location 2: VBA 3TB (2.2) > LMS 7.7.2 > Touch > Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio)

Thanks Gary appreciate your advice will give that a try when I get home tonight. I have already put the full LMS details in the Controller but despite being connected to my network it just does not seem to be able to connect.
I think this may be an issue because I have two routers . I have been looking for a while to get a decent modem router so that all my connections are in to a single unit and will do this first to see if this cures the problems.
Does it make a difference if the SBT is a wired ethernet connection while the Controller can only be Wireless ?

the SBT can be wired and the controller wifi. no problem. But they do both need to be on the SAME network. If you have two routers, make sure the DHCP server is turned off in one of them. You don't want two routers both handing out IP addresses.
Make sure on same network (maybe turn off one of the routers temporarily), then do a factory reset on the CONTROLLER.Location 1: VortexBox Appliance 6TB (2.2) > LMS 7.7.2 > Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet)

Gary think this may well be my problem and as I said I am going to buy a new Modem Router that will have all my connections on that one router. Will wait until I get that installed then do a complete factory reset on both the SBT and Controller then put a new clean install of LMS 7.2 on my pc and then clear the cache and Library and do a rescan and start the whole thing from scratch . I know it is a bit of a pain but should give me the best chance of getting a nice new installation with all the units connected to the same network .

When you want to play music through the SBC headphone jack, the SBT is completely irrelevant.
When you enable Audio playback on the Controller, the Controller will show up in LMS as a separate Squeezebox player. In other words, you will have two Squeezeboxes; the Touch and the Controller. You can play one song on the SBT while simultaneously playing a different one on the SBC if you like.

This is my problem although the controller is on the mysqueezebox.com page it does not show up as connected . Also if I open the LMS window and look at the Tab Information it only shows the number of players connected as 1. Given that the controller can find and connect with the SBT then as above i suspect a network issue which I hope will be resolved when I have a single modem router with everything just connected to that .

Hmmmm, You may not understand that if the CONTROLLER is connected to your local LMS, it is correct that it shows up as "non connected" to your mysqueezebox.com. A player can be connected to either your local LMS or mysqueezebox.com, but not both at the same time. Within the CONTROLLER menu, you need to choose, "select player" and select the Controller as player before you get to use it as a player (as noted above).
