(Also posted on the Logitech SB Forum)
Running the official Spotify plugin, configured with my premium account details, in the UK - some tracks cannot play on the Touch as unavailable in my region, even though these play just fine from the Spotify app on the Mac when logged in under the same premium account.
Why so?
Is there a fix?
Would I have the same problem using Triode's Spotify plugin?

Spotify region issue

It's a known issue with the standard Spotify plugin provided by Logitech:
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17002
It will probably work with Triode's plugin:

I wasn't sure that Triode's plugin has resolved the issue (it it relates to the re-linking stuff) as I thought he had changed the error handling to not bomb out when this problem comes up so it certainly performs better than the official app - but I could be wrong as I haven't kept up with the development recently and I get easily confused over what causes the problem.
Thinking about it, only last week I selected an album which skipped most of the tracks but upon checking later that evening I noticed that album appeared three times in the search results so I selected another 'copy' and it worked no problem!! All with Triode's plugin.
Dare I say that Spotify has been pretty reliable for me recently - have a party coming up which needs some nice background music for 12 hours so I hope it continues to behave.

Same issue with Triode's Spotify
Well, now having tried it, I get the same issue with Triode's plugin. Gary Burton Libertango album in my case - in a playlist created from the official Mac Spotify client that plays perfectly from there. Using either the official SB plugin or Triode's brings up the "not available in your region" message.
When I search for Libertango within the official Spotify plugin, select the Gary Burton album, and try to play a track I get no error message but the track itself does not play - it appears to play in that the pause symbol appears but there is no sound and the progress bar makes no progress.
When I search for Libertango within Triode's Spotify plugin, the album icon listed as Gary Burton has a different cover image - it seems to be swapped with the one for Sharon Shannon and Friends. Still the Gary Burton gives the region problem. The Sharon Shannon plays but shows yet a different album cover when doing so.

I left it blank as I am seeing the same top 100 list for tracks as I see from the Mac client. This is how I interpreted the instructions.
Just in case though, I have now selected United Kingdom and applied the changes. Still getting the region problem though, but thanks for the suggestion.

Is the "Always Stream via Helper" option enabled ?
I'm not sure if it has any effect but if you have a Radio or Touch and don't have it checked I think it streams using the firmware while checking it will make sure it streams through the plugin. However, I don't think it should matter as both the player and SBS/LMS is in the same country, but maybe the firmware streaming somehow communicates with mysqueezebox.com and that causes the issues.
Also, make sure you use the correct Spotify plugin, both will appear under "My Apps", the one with the orange icon is the third party plugin.Erland Isaksson (My homepage)
