Hello everyone!
SOS! Help! Mediiiiiiiiic!
My previous set up was:
Squeezebox Touch>D-Link DIR 600>Synolgoy DS212+. Everything worked flawlessly. Except for the fact that for me to transfer files from my MacBook Pro to the NAS was a pain because the D-Link DIR600 is a g router.
So today I got the Apple Airport Extreme Base Station. Transferred about 60GB from my laptop to the NAS in an hour...loved it! HOWEVER!!!
My life revolves around music and the reason for the NAS was for the Squeezebox Touch. The current setup is:
Squeezebox Touch>Apple Airport Extreme Base Station>Synology DS212+
The Squeezebox is connected to the network but it won't find the NAS. It found my MacBook Pro and THROUGH the laptop using Squeezebox Server found the Synology NAS. It doesn't see it on its own. I ran all diagnostics and nothing. I just get that screen of Try Again / Switch Library.
PLEASE HELP! What am I doing wrong here or not doing?
Huge thanks!

The only way a Touch will see the NAS directly is if the NAS is running LMS. Is this NAS box capable of running LMS? In your other setup you had LMS running on a separate computer and THAT server was seeing the NAS and sending the data to the Touch. If you don't have LMS running on another computer then it needs to be running on the NAS itself.

Is your Touch wirelessly connected? Sometimes routers have a separate VLAN for wireless or have LAN isolation switched on by default, which means your wireless devices can see the internet but not other ethernet-connected devices.
There are a number of different variations on this theme, so look for that in your router's settings if it's wireless and even if it's wired check that the router switch ports aren't assigned to different VLANs.

They do it so if you're stupid enough to use WEP (or no) encryption then anyone freeloading on your wireless connection can't get to your wired PCs and, if it supports individual station isolation, your wireless laptop as well. They'll get out to the internet and that's it.
I have a separate SSID for guests which I keep isolated from all the stations on my main network as well so at least if they have any viruses, trojans, etc. it's not going to affect any of my gear!

Thank you so much everyone. It was the static and dynamic IP issue. I assigned the NAS a static IP and now it works fine but the Logitech Media Server is a nightmare. It rescans the library even if there's a mild wind outside. You don't get to see the scan progress either as it just says only one thing. I am thinking about dumping the entire Squeezebox set up and go for Sonos. God I loved the Squeezebox Touch so much and thought getting a NAS would make things easier
